Diploma for Early Years Educator
Made up of the following components:

The Level 3 Early Years Apprenticeship Standard

12 hour Paediatric First Aid Certificate

GCSE grade 4 or above in English and Maths or Functionals Skills level 2
​​Course Delivery, Assessment and Duration
​
The course will last approximately 12-18 months. Apprentices must be employed in a child are setting and be released from the workplace to attend regular training sessions for 3 academic terms to complete the apprenticeship. In addition to this Learners will meet with their Assessor monthly to plan and carry out work-based assessment. You will also attend training sessions with your funding provider. You will complete a range of online training which covers all aspects of childcare working practice.

Entry Requirements
​
Learners are expected to have a minimum of GCSE grade 4(C) or above in English and Maths or equivalent qualifications e.g. Functional Skills level 2 to enter the Early Years Educator Apprenticeship Standard course. Learners who have not yet achieved this are expected to do so before completing their apprenticeship.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements
​
Early Years Educators are required to hold a GCSE grade 4 or above or Functional skills level 2 or equivalent in English to be included in staff child ratios when working in an early year’s childcare setting.
