

Level 2 Apprenticeship
The Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (EYP)
Made up of the following components:

The Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner Qualification

Level 1 functional skills or equivalent in English and Maths
In addition to these components you will also receive:

12 hours Paediatric First Aid Certificate

Food Hygiene Certificate

All components of the Apprenticeship Standard must be completed to achieve the Apprenticeship Standard Certificate

Course Delivery, Assessment and Duration
​
The course will last approximately one year. Apprentices must be employed in a childcare setting and be released from the workplace to attend regular training sessions for three academic terms to complete the apprenticeship. In addition to this, learners will meet with their Assessor monthly to plan and carry out work-based assessment. You will also attend training sessions with your funding provider as part of your apprenticeship. You will complete a range of online training which covers all aspects of childcare working practice.

Entry Requirements
​
There are no formal entry requirements for the Level 2 Apprenticeship, however it is expected that all learners will have a good level of English and Maths to complete the Apprenticeship Standard. These skills will be assessed at the start of your apprenticeship.
